"Join us for the first half of an epic journey through the greatest story ever told. The tale of Pip, Charles Dickens' mighty "Great Expectations" will straddle the two ends of this academic year. Part One of this two-part adaptation will be performed next week on Thursday 30 November and Friday 1 December in the Main Hall at 7pm. (Please note the earlier than usual start time). Part Two will form our Trinity Term drama production in July 2018. Lose yourself in the interlocking destinies of some of the most celebrated characters in English Literature, brought to life by a huge and eclectic cast drawn from students in every year group in the school and with a record number of teaching staff mining their thespian talent! This promises to be a very special evening of live theatre."

Useful bits

Personal Equipment

It is important that your child has a pencil case containing the following equipment: 2 x blue Berol handwriting pens, 2 x HB pencils, ruler, rubber, scissors, glue stick and sharpener (preferably with a compartment for shavings). They should also bring coloured pencils and felt tips.

Home School Diary
Please ensure that you discuss your child's homework diary entry with them each day. Reading undertaken daily at home with your child should also be noted in their Reading Record. To ensure efficient and prompt communication between parents, staff and children, we ask that diaries are signed by a parent or guardian at the end of each week.

If a child forgets their swimming kit we do have a spare set in school for children to use or we may telephone home to request parents bring in their child's swimming kit. Please note that if your child is well enough to be in school they will be expected to swim. A medical note from the doctor will be required if your child is in school but unable to swim.

If your child is absent from school please telephone school on either 01254 686300 and leave a message, or call Mrs Tighe on the direct line 01254 686311 before 9.30am each day of your child's absence. Failure to report a child's absence will result in an unauthorised absence being recorded.

Appointments with Form Teachers
Please can we politely remind you that entrance to the Junior School building is for children and staff only? Should you wish to speak with a member of staff, please see Mrs Tighe where you will be able to leave a message, or make an appointment before or after school.
We would like to thank all the parents and guardians who have accompanied the staff and pupils on any previous school trips. If you wish to be added to the volunteer list, please speak to Mrs Tighe in the office.

Thank you for your continued support of the Junior School. We hope that your child will have a happy, healthy and productive time in our care.
