The next Sixth Form Open Evening will be held on Tuesday 26 September between 5pm and 9pm 

Main School Open Day will be held on Saturday 7 October between 9.30am and 1.30pm

There is no need to book a place - just arrive on the day and allow enough time to look around!

ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2017/18


RECEPTION (EYFS)

From September 2018, our Infant School will have two classes of 28 for Reception (EYFS).

For September 2019 Reception Class applications please complete your own Local Authority's online Common Application Form (e.g. Blackburn with Darwen, Lancashire County Council, Bolton Council, etc) by the national deadline date (15th January 2018).  There is no need to completed a separate application form for QEGS directly.

The result of your application will be made known to you by the Local Authority on 16th April 2018.

If you are unsuccessful in being offered a place for September 2018, your child's name will be automatically placed on the Local Authority's reserve list in accordance with the oversubscription criteria/random draw.  The reserve list will be maintained by the Local Authority until 31st December 2018, at which point it will be passed back to the school to manage as their Waiting List.  The School's Waiting List is not held numerically, but in accordance with our oversubscription criteria.
If you wish your child’s name to remain on the waiting list for the rest of the school year should a place be made available, please e-mail the School Admissions Department (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) during the first two weeks of term in January 2019, otherwise your child's name will be removed from the waiting list.

Our Junior School has two classes of 28 for Year 3, and two classes of 20 for each of Years 4 to 6.

Year 7 applications

Entry to school is normally in September at the start of the academic year. To apply you must complete your own Local Authority's online Common Application Form (e.g. Blackburn with Darwen, Lancashire County Council, Bolton Council, etc) AND the School's own online application form (see Apply Now button below), both before the 31st October 2017.

When you complete the Local Authority's application you will be reminded, by way of a pop-up on screen (that you have to tick to acknowledge you have seen), to complete the School's own online application form.  Once you have submitted the School's online application form, you will receive a receipt by e-mail.  Please ensure you retain this receipt as proof of your application.

The Fair Banding Assessment for September 2018 applicants will take place on Saturday 18th November 2017. As a result of completing the School's online application form you will automatically receive an invitation from the school to sit the assessment, but you will NOT receive this until AFTER the national closing date for applications (31st October 2017).   The assessment assesses verbal, numerical and non-verbal abilities.

Verbal Ability
Comprehension (10 mins/15 questions).  This section assesses the candidate's ability to understand text and make inferences.
Related Words (6 mins/27 questions).  This section assesses the candidate's vocabulary knowledge.
Missing Words (8 mins/44 words).  This section assesses the candidate's comprehension and vocabulary skills.

Numerical Ability
Arithmetic (5 mins/23 questions).  This section assesses the candidate's numerical ability through mental arithmetic.
Data Problems (10 mins/16 questions).  This section aims to assessnumerical and analytical reasoning through functional data problems.

Non-Verbal Ability
Pictures (7 mins/24 questions).  This section assesses the candidate's visuo-spatial aspects of fluid intelligence.

Sixth Form

All applications will be carefully considered upon receipt of a completed School Online Application Form (See 'Apply Now' button below).

Entry to the school's Sixth Form is normally in September at the start of the academic year. Applications for September 2018 are now being taken.

Candidates who apply to enter the Sixth Form will be invited for a consultation with the Head or a senior member of staff.  The offer of a place will then be made, subject to the attainment of the GCSE grades needed.

A parent MUST complete an in-year application, and have been sent a 'refusal of a place' letter in order to join the Waiting List.  In-year applicants (Senior School only) MUST also sit the Fair Banding Assessment.  Assessments are held once per term on pre-determined dates (these will be advertised on the school website, Facebook and Twitter pages).  If you miss the date of an assessment, you must wait until the following terms date to sit the assessment.  Your child cannot be added to our Waiting List or be considered for a place until the Fair Banding Assessment result is known.
