FAIR BANDING ASSESSMENT

This takes place on Saturday 18th November.  If you have a child currently in Year 6 and have applied to the Local Authority for a place at QEGS for September 2018, your child needs to sit this assessment.  You will have received notification of the allotted date and time to bring your child into school, providing you have also completed the QEGS online application form - as per the Local Authority School Admissions booklet.

National Storytelling Week

Pupils at QEGS were delighted to be a part of National Storytelling Week and celebrated in the Library with a wealth of stories and tales.

Our Telling Tales group shared scary tales, Mrs Verner read The Viper, Mr Hargreaves, wore a flat cap for his reading and Mrs Foxley added her own original touch to her delightful story which included delicate bones, frogs, lashing reeds and Little Duke.

Carnegie winner

 The Bunker Diary written by Kevin Brooks wins the Carnegie Medal for 2014.

It's true!

Without a word of a lie, National Non-Fiction Day, was a great success yesterday when Head of Library, Mrs Dewhurst launched the Dewey competition - with a chance to win a copy of the Guinness World Book of Records 2015.

National Non-Fiction Day is an annual celebration of all things factual.The day celebrates all those readers that have a passion for information and facts and attempts to bring non-fiction celebration in line with those of fiction.
