FAIR BANDING ASSESSMENT

This takes place on Saturday 18th November.  If you have a child currently in Year 6 and have applied to the Local Authority for a place at QEGS for September 2018, your child needs to sit this assessment.  You will have received notification of the allotted date and time to bring your child into school, providing you have also completed the QEGS online application form - as per the Local Authority School Admissions booklet.

Sports Results for Week Beginning 22 May

Cricket

U15's -vs- Hulme GS: QEGS were 106 for 7 off 16 overs (Qasim Shah 68), HGS 107 for 1 : QEGS lost by 9 wickets

U15's LSCA Cup Round 2 -vs- Pendle Vale High School : Pendle Vale were 94 for 6 (Hugo Strand took 4 for 13), QEGS 97 for 4 (Adeel Ahmed 29) : QEGS won by 6 wickets

U14's LSCA Cup Round 3 -vs- Lancaster RGS: QEGS were 68 all out, LRGS 69 for 2 : QEGS lost by 8 wickets

U13's Year 8 -vs- St Mary's Hall: SMH were 147 for 1, QEGS 108 for 5 (Louis Strand 58*) : QEGS lost by 39 runs

U12's Year 7 -vs- St Mary's Hall: QEGS were 108 all out, SMH 75 all out : QEGS won by 33 runs

QEGS won the U13's match against St Bede's in the LSCA Cup, scoring 139 for 4 (Louis Strand 67, Ayan Farouk 29, Reyan Zore 25), St Bedes were all out for 22 : QEGS won by 117 runs

Athletics

Regional English Schools Town Selection : Well done to Evan Cunningham, Elliot Martin, Arif Demir, Alex Bendell, Harvey Ashworth, Jamie Parker, Ben Clarkson and Rececca Mitchell who have all been provisionally selected for the team in the Lancashire Schools event in June! Excellent!

Performance of the Week

Not only has Nicole Saunders (Year 7) become Lancashire Champion in all the 4 athletics throwing events, she set two new records in discus and javelin!  Well done!
