The next Sixth Form Open Evening will be held on Tuesday 26 September between 5pm and 9pm 

Main School Open Day will be held on Saturday 7 October between 9.30am and 1.30pm

There is no need to book a place - just arrive on the day and allow enough time to look around!

QEGS' Beat MCC By Three

On a gloriously sunny Wednesday afternoon at Alexandra Meadows this week, QEGS' 1st VI performed outstandingly well against MCC, winning by 3 wickets with a score of 191 for 7.  MCC were 190 for 3 in a great run chase.

U15's Lancashire batsman Qasim Shah scored 112 - a unique result in itself - and Lancashire U13's Rehan Zore scored 26.  Well done to all for a brilliant team performance.

Qasim Scores 112!

Year 10 pupil QASIM SHAH scored 112 in QEGS' 1st X1 victory -vs- MCC on  Wednesday 10 May.   Qasim plays for the Lancashire Cricket Board U15’s and to score a century versus the MCC is unique.

Seen here receiving his Man of the Match Award from MCC Captain Mark Lomas, and with former colleague and ex 1st X1 manager Steve Northin, Qasim now gets an expenses paid trip down to London to the Home of cricket, Lords! Wow!

The PE Department held their Annual Sports Awards Presentations evening on Wednesday 26 April. 

Old Blackburnian David Brown (1995-2001) was Chief Guest at this hugely popular event, which was attended by over 200 pupils and their proud parents.

Golfers Gain Great Ground!

Year 10 pupil, James Andrews finished second in the Lancashire U15 Boys Championship out a field of over 80 golfers at Blackburn Golf Club recently.

James carded a superb round of 5 over par; his round of 76 gross was only bettered by one shot.  QEGS have not had a top 3 finisher in this prestigious event since 1999!  This was achieved after a horrible double bogey on the first hole; James was able to recover his composure and play some excelle...
