Today we celebrate many successes.

Due to the new more rigorous examination in English and Maths it is not appropriate to compare this year’s results with previous academic years but some most notable achievements were:
• A*-C % was over 85% in Art, Biology, Chemistry, Latin, Music, Physics, Religious Studies, and Statistics with many of these subjects achieving over 90% in this measure.
• A*-A% was greater than 40% in Art, Biology, Chemistry, Latin and Physics with Biology and Physics achieving 51.4% and 60% respectively in this measure.

Mrs CY Gammon said “I am very proud of the results produced by this cohort of students, the vast majority of which joined us during Year 9. This year these students have had to face the new more rigorous examinations in English and Mathematics and this has put added pressure on them. I am delighted that they have risen to the challenges put in front of them and they should be truly proud of their achievements”.

We are delighted that many of our top achieving students are to return to QEGS for their Sixth Form education, and we also look forward to enrolling many external students over the next two days. For more information about the Sixth Form, please telephone 01254 686300 or visit www.qegsblackburn.com/sixth to apply online.

We wish all our hard-working pupils well for the next stage of their education.
