The Elizabethan Association (PTA) Michaelmas Ramble: Sunday, 18th September 2016

Many thanks to those families and staff whom were able to attend and support the first Junior and Infant Ramble of the academic year.

The walk around Brockholes Nature Reserve took us just over an hour, and we were blessed with warm weather as we ambled along. GCSE results to shout about!

QEGS was delighted to see over a quarter of pupils gaining at least five A*-A in their GCSEs. The % A*-C was 82.2, encouraging considering that a significant proportion of the Year Group joined the school in Year 10, after the change to Free School status.

A-level congratulations

This year’s cohort – a much larger one than in previous years – gained the results predicted, showing considerable progress over what were disappointing AS results last year.

71% gained A*-C and the pass rate remained high at 98%.

Junior School Commemoration Assembly

On Thursday, 7th July, the Junior School held a commemoration assembly to celebrate the sponsorship and dedication of three wonderful new trophies, in honour of former members of QEGS staff.

The event was an emotional affair, with Dave Edmondson speaking warmly about his former colleagues, to a rapt Junior School audience. The Headmaster has announced that the Head Boy for the academic year 2016/17 is Theo Roberts and the Head Girl will be Sadia Butt.

The Deputies are James Henaghan and Annabel Harvey.
